The killer of Bondi schoolgirl Samantha Knight is expected to walk free from jail on Thursday after a judge ruled there was no reason to keep him locked up.
Michael Guider has served his 17-year sentence for manslaughter and will be released under a strict five-year supervision order.
Samantha's mother has called for a review into the system.
"We should all be shocked. Our legal professionals and our police professionals work within the structures that are given to them...and at some point we need to start considering whether we need to change those structures" - Tess Knight - Mother of Samantha Knight.
